FAQ

Why do numbers show up as unknown?

A call can show up as unknown when the number is unlisted, the caller has blocked caller ID, or the call is made through a VoIP service. Scammers can also “spoof” a number so it looks familiar or local.

Should I call back a number I don't recognize?

If you're not expecting a call, look the number up first. Be careful with callbacks to numbers that rang only once, and never share personal or payment information with a caller you can't verify.

What happens to the number I search?

We pass it, as you typed it, to our search partner,BeenVerified, to run the search. We also keep a record of searched numbers to operate and improve our service. See our Privacy Policy.

Can I use the results to screen a tenant or an employee?

No. The information may not be used for any purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), including decisions about employment, tenant screening, credit or insurance.
